SUSPICION

why do you question
my every move
why am I suspect
in the things that I say
could it be
that you are the one
doing things
that shouldn't be done?

I am above reproach
I don't lie
cheat
steal
and yet I have been branded
a suspect
by your suspicions
and past transgressions

most unfortunate for you
that my patience is gone
and this is the end
of us
but I will leave you with
a last piece of advice
and perhaps it will be useful
for your time after me

stop doing to others
what you don't want done to you
and you just might learn to live
without suspicion
